images: Concrete I’ve seen so many projects lately and there was one name I’ve came across really often: that of Concrete, Amsterdam. I decided to see if they’re as interesting as their projects and asked them a few questions... Who couldn’t avoid the cliche, what they think of Philippe Starck’s School of Design and is there a ban for the famous Amsterdam coffee shops…That and more in the full interview with Concrete!

The Carbon stool designed by the young designer Michal Pazitny was produced as a designer’s experiment, which tests the properties of carbon. The main feature of the product is firmness at low weight. “It was bird bones that inspired me when designing the carboxyl chair. They are characterised by their slim shapes, however, at the same time, being extremely firm in terms of their low weight,” comments designer. The stool is made of carbon and leather. Dimensions: 340 x 300 x 1013 mm. ▪

LoftCube is a newly developed modular system, created by Werner Aisslinger . It allows for more rapid transportation and installation in yet undeveloped places. LoftCubes can be linked together horizontally or diagonally. The set-up time is only three days, including the interior. This new living space can be used for working, living, and relaxing. The kitchen is custom-made to fit the spatial dimensions of the LoftCube. Despite its minimal space requirements, it offers all functions needed by demanding chefs. The bathroom is totally modular, corresponding with the kitchen and the living area. Everything is operated through a single panel. ▪

images: Miguel de Guzman AMP Arquitectos designed the Rafael Arozarena Institute in La Orotava, Tenerife, composed of overlapping, concrete bars and a detached athletics facility in a valley setting. Access to the school is via a parking lot to the west or a footbridge on the south, the latter primarily for students after being dropped off. From this high, entry level containing offices and the library, the building descends down the slope, the lowermost portion being the detached gymnasium, its curved roof the apparent antithesis to the strong horizontality of the rest of the school.▪

images: Revista 1 Em 100 This 410 sq m house by Daniel Becker & Claudio Ferrari and B4FS Architects is located in the residential area in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. The location gave certain advantages to the design, particularly its excellent orientation and the presence of very big trees. The clients point out two main questions to be considered: growth of the family and the security measures, without losing contact with nature. The architects' solution is an intelligent use of the tectonic ability of the brick: instead of using the typical security grille, all walls are designed with openness, providing a warmth and movement to the architectonic space.▪

We gave you an interview, now we’re presenting this 90 sq m store in Barcelona, created by Rife Design for female fashion brand Nino Alvarez. The store, built in March this year is based on an exposition concept – the iron-made facade embodies a frame for the works of art inside the building. The interior actually resembles a tunnel, created in the best way to bring the clothes forward. Special lighting is used on the glazed walls so they can reflect the rest of the store’s interior, for anyone who passes by to see…there are also zigzag elements, inviting visitors in. ▪

Elle System by Emmegi is a padded chair system that enhances the qualities of its ad hoc designed rotation and spring devices. Its elegant shape, with refined upholstery and simple frames, expresses the design philosophy of Luca Nichetto with Stefano Bottino. Personality and coherent design enable the chairs in the Elle System to leave their mark in their areas of use: offices, waiting rooms and homes.▪
