This apartment has been designed by Luis Pons. The loft is situated in Miami Beach, Florida. The project includes the renovation of the interior. The main concept of the designer was to combine design and art as one. That was achieved via experimental treatment of the walls and а series of ingenious interior decisions done by the designer. The total floor area is 200 sq. m.

This project has been designed by the Czech studio PHA. The apartment is situated in Prague and its total area is 180 sq.m. The project includes the complete construction of a new attic apartment. The interior comprises mainly built-in custom-made furnishings with a few items of free standing high-quality pieces of contemporary furniture.

A great project by the Turkish design studio Autoban. The apartment is situated in Istanbul and is spread on 140 sq. m. The design combines contemporary lifestyle with authentic appearance of a home built in from 1900s. Original ornaments and gilding on the ceilings, high walls, and massive wood act as a perfect background for the modern interpretation of the space. Some of the pieces of furniture inside Ayazpasa Palas House are designed by Autoban. There are also objects found out at some antiquaries.

Bisazza Opened Its New Headquarters

Bisazza opened its new headquarters in Alte (Vicenza). The renovation project was headed up by architect Carlo Dal Bianco, current director of the Bisazza Design Studio, who was first assigned the task in 2002.

Bisazza�s aim with this restyling is to convey a new image, to be reiterated in the homogenous Bisazza stores in the main design capitals of the world.

Entire areas, previously used for mosaic production, have been reclaimed and set up for exhibiting works, objects, sculptures, furnishing accessories and installations created together with internationally recognised architects and designers.

Have a look at the cross-like new residential project of the Spanish architectural studio A-cero. The house, finished last October, is located on a 3500 sq.m plot presenting a light slope. This 1200 sq.m single-family residence is composed of the two rectangular intersected bodies. They surround a cylinder in which the staircase, connecting all the areas in the house, is situated. The structural system of the residence is made only of reinforced concrete walls, avoiding intermediate columns. The building is divided in three levels. The design follows the concept of maximal functionality in the distribution of the interior spaces and their openness to the exterior.

This apartment in Istanbul has been designed by the Turkish studio Autoban. The building was built in 1900s and is a tipical example of the French influence in architecture during this period. Once it was used as a film depot. After its reconstruction Beyoglu House has been turned into a modern apartment combining retro elements with contemporary design. The flat is spread on 120 sq.m. and consists of a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom.

Twin-like Houses by A-cero

An interesting interpretation of the twin houses in architecture by A-cero. The project presents two residential buildings placed in adjacent plots with similar areas - 3.000 sq. m. The plots have a rectangular form and present a light slope. Nevertheless their alike look, both houses have a unique design that follows the requirements of the land and the clients� preferences. This is an expression of �the theory of a couple of twins with similar appearance and deep ties, but also with different personalities and distinctive features�, explain the architects.

A cinema hall of AFM, designed by Autoban, situated in Istanbul. The designers have searched for a modern appearance of the space. They have combined different textures with industrial looking steel pipes on very deep walls. The floor, on the other hand, is decorated with flowery patterns. Simple wood furniture and metal ornaments have been gathered to bring more urban atmosphere to the interior. The yellow curtains at the entrances of the cinema saloons add theatrical feeling to the space.

Jaime Hayon has renovated a fashionable store for the shoe company Camper. It is situated in Paris and was the first international store of the company, opened in the 90�s. The store is the fifth common project between the Spanish designer and Camper. For the project Jaime Hayon has used his characteristic drawings, baroque motifs, gold finishing and hand-crafted furnishing. Red and white with black accents dominate in the interior.

�We were lucky to get a commercial client not intent on the usual formulae seen in most financial institutional fit outs. A strong female presence meant we could experiment with new colours and silhouettes�, Greg Natale says. The use of bright colours for the furniture, the floral motifs, the glass walls with transparent graphics and the light curtain by Tord Boontje draw the interior up to residential ones.

An addition to the chain The House Cafe. The new cafe is designed by Autoban. It is situated at Istinye Park Shopping Mall in Istanbul and has capacity of 200 seatings. The atmosphere combines modern design pieces by Autoban, as well as the classical furniture tipical for The House Cafes. The space looks like a city square. It has no walls or columns. The metal �towers� resemble a clock tower and a train station. Inside them marble tables have been set. Day light coming from above emphasize the feeling for open space.

On the contrary, the rooms are designed in a contemporary style complemented with cutting-edge technologies. The suits are different in size and interior design. An ex-flour mill since 1520 has been turned into a new hotel � Gerbermuehle. The hotel is situated of river Main, Frankfurt. The building combines authentic architecture with latest design and technology. The lobby features exposed beams and mezzanines that suggest a stylized version of the innards of a massive skyscraper. The bar, on the other hand, features old stone walls and riveted leather furniture. There are 13 rooms, 6 suites, a restaurant, a bar, 3 conference rooms, and a summer garden.

A home in NY renovated by studio Factory. The building dating back to 1912 needed serious restoration work. The interior surfaces were covered in multiple layers of old finishes like vinyl flooring, faux brick, stones sheets, crumbling wallpaper, mirrored walls. After the renovation an owner\'s unit on the second floor and a rental apartment on the first have been created. To open up the space of the second floor some of the interior partitions have been removed. The total area includes 150 sq. ft vestibule, 850 sq. ft rental unit, 1200 sq. ft owner�s unit, 900 sq. ft basement, and 450 sq. ft garage.

The latest project of arch. Gonzalo Mardones, finished a few weeks ago. Vanguardia office building is located in the Business City of Santiago, Chile. Here is what the architect explains about the project: �This interior is the soul of the building. The cubic volume is open by means of a six storey high crack. This void that all the levels balconies are open towards, is protected by a kind of great vertical �grapevine� controlling the afternoon sun. The interior space also receives vertical light and diagonal light through a series of skylights, which rotate around their own axis.�

An extravagant nightclub situated on the island of Samui, Thailand. Q Bar Samui is part of the chain Q Bar. Its modern colorful interior is dotted with impressive accents like a 10-meter wooden bar with brass trim and a custom-made white pool table. The indirect lighting is accented with gothic candelabrums and a unique chandelier. An entire glass wall slides to open a large terrace perched 500 m above Chaweng Lake with a view towards the beach and the Gulf of Thailand beyond.

Boxhead home by Carter+Burton

The latest project of Carter+Burton. The house follows the concept of boxes in a box. �Boxhead is almost twice more energy efficient than regular houses�, explain the architects. The double concrete walls are tilted to gather sun in the colder months. SIPs (structural insulated panel) have been used for one of the walls and the roof. Concrete cut-outs from floor outlets in city building were reused in the master bathroom on the floor/tub platform and on the wall in the shower.

Here is the newest project of the Australian studio BURO Architecture + Interiors, realized in Melbourne. The project was completed in December last year and includes the reconstruction of an existing building with four apartments. The result is a luxury three-story residence combining the original facade of the 20s of the last century with totally changed interior. The back of the building has also been changed to achieve a modern appearance. The apartments are demolished and a new modern three-story residence in black and white has been built up. On the roof there are two open terraces. There are also an inner yard and a pool.

Sebastian Irarrazzaval has designed Hotel Spa Indigo Patagonia. The architect has taken full advantage of the landscape. Big windows in the rooms give great views to the sea and simulate big pictures of the nature. Wood, slate, and iron have been used for the project. The movement between the different levels is assured by a system of bridges, ramps and staircases. On the top of the hotel a luxury SPA is situated. The restaurant is located in an old twostorey house adjacent to the main building, which has been fully refurbished.■
