Jean-Marie Massaud has designed the Heaven series for the Italian company EMU. The series outdoor furniture has been presented at the IMM Cologne 2008. According to him, it is �a manifesto of elegance, mid-way between glamour and timeless sensuality. The airy silhouettes of the chairs, armchairs, tables and vases stage the privileges of open-air life with refinement. They do not neglect requisites of comfort, stackability and resistance that, to my mind, are a fundamental must�, explains Massaud.

Ego has expanded its Tandem collection with a high table and a bench. This table can become a bar for a celebration drink or a non-conventional dining table. The new Wing collection of Richard Schultz Design will be presented at ICFF in New York in the category Outdoor Furniture. Richard Schultz has updated the classic form of the traditional wing chair for use in outdoor rooms. The new wing lounge chair is available in four different colors. The collection contains also Coffee table and End table, both with vertical slots. The pads for the chairs are in the same colors as the base. From Richard Schultz Design Studio are saying: �When used in a circular or rectangular grouping around a fire pit or table our Wing Chair provides enclosure and protection.�

Varaschin has presented a new series designed with the cooperation of Nigel Coates. Rollover had its premiere at I Saloni 2008. Here is what the designer says about the collection: �The form of Rollover sends us away to the craft of weaving. We had to learn where to make two strands into one or vice versa. Modelled first in plasticine, then digitally, the shape is woven from PVC cords, which have the same stiffness as rattan. Its rigidity comes from the aluminium frame.� The collection includes chairs and sofas for the outdoor zones.

Translation Armchair - Good In More Than One Way: Recycled And To Win

Translation armchair designed by Alain Gilles for Qui est Paul? is a good example of that with some fine tuning, normally wasted materials can be transformed into fully functional furniture that does not have to hide its origins. The armchair is made of recycled plastic bottle caps that have first been shredded into smaller pieces (70% of the finished product, and also made out of PE) are mixed with some neutral PE (30%). This makes the seat not only recyclable, but largely made out of a recycled product. For the first time, a rotomolded piece of furniture in production is made with a very high recycled content.
