Tom Price presented his PP Tube and PP Tube#2 Chairs at IMM Cologne 2008 in the section [d3] design talents. The models are a part from the Meltdown series. They are created by heating and pressing a seat-shaped former into an array of plastic products to melt them into comfortable seating surfaces.

Tom Price presented his Cast Lights at IMM Cologne 2008 in the section [d3] design talents. These sculptural lighting pieces are made from solidified light. A small light bulb was placed in a 3D scanning device. When switched on, the scanner was able to detect a halo of light emanating from the bulb and created a three dimensional solid model of the surface of the glow. The computer models were then built in nylon using rapid manufacturing technology (SLS).

Cate H?gdahl and Nelson Ruiz-Acal from cate&nelson presented their Fiat Lux table lamp in the Greenhouse at Stockholm Furniture Fair 2008. The lamp has an integrated slot to hold book or magazines. Thought to go next to a bed, an armchair or a sofa. When lit the letters Fiat Lux (\"let there be light\") show on the side of the lamp. The product is still a prototype.

Kippis bookshelf is a part from the diploma project �inVALID� by the two young designers Nina Farsen and Isabel Sch?llhammer.

Without a stabilising cross joint in its back a shelf will be shaky and can easily lose balance. As a result a rhomboid movement is made possible and the shelf tilts to the side.

It is a versatile low chair with different coloured layers of felt, giving you the feeling of having a seat inside a book. Whenever you want to change the colour or mood of the chair - just turn a page of felt over. Oz chair is still a prototype.

The unit with its surprising texture is not only soft to sit on, but also comprises a spacious pull out drawer.

A table that is missing two legs will inevitably topple over, won�t it? In the Suppenkaspar table the missing legs are compensated by weights that are fixed in the appropriate places. Nearly invisible thin strings hold these weights. The assumed damage of the table causes the user to have a special experience.

Gavity sofa has a longitudinal pocket. Ovoid objects can be inserted to modify volumes and functionality of the sofa. The carrying structure is made in solid wood padded with non-deformable polyurethane foam with different densities. The entire base and ovoid objects are covered in woollen fabric. The Carbon stool designed by the young designer Michal Pazitny was produced as a designer�s experiment, which tests the properties of carbon. The main feature of the product is firmness at low weight. �It was bird bones that inspired me when designing the carboxyl chair. They are characterised by their slim shapes, however, at the same time, being extremely firm in terms of their low weight,� comments designer. The stool is made of carbon and leather. Dimensions: 340 x 300 x 1013 mm. ▪

The young Slovak designer Marian Lassak presents his Grandmother chair. The chair incorporates elements, which reflect the traditional folk stool. However, the shape and detail correspond to contemporary design. The back and seat parts are made from layered and veneered beech wood. The print on the inner side of the back simulates the characteristic motif of folk woodcarving. Dimensions: 500 x 820 x 430 mm.▪

Backpacker\'s diary is a PC concept that integrate with the form of traditional book, the target user is the enthusiastic travelling fans. In this \"book\", different pages include different functions, like media recording, solar recharging and EL illuminant. The approach of reading a book takes the traditional way of operating computer, which encourage those backpackers to experience and share more about their trips. The Backpacker\'s diary is designed by Zhongren Zhang and Chun Yang, and received the 3rd Place Judges Award & Public�s Choice Award Winner at this year�s Next-Gen PC Design Competition organized by Microsoft.▪

Hotel Lone in Rovinj, Croatia is planned to open in summer 2009 and is already been listed in the prestigious international selection Design Hotel AG. This is the first Croatian hotel to be part of the world-renowned brand. 3LHD architects collaborated with numerous acclaimed young Croatian designers and artists in developing the project, situated in the attractive tourist area of Monte Mulini, the green oasis of the town of Rovinj, Croatia. The specific terrain has significant height differences within the site, in immediate vicinity of the Eden Hotel, the �star� hotel in the �70�s, with aesthetic characteristics of the time when it was constructed.

DeZona presents Radoslav Buzinkay, Andrej Ferencik and Jakub Viskupic, who created BEEF in 2004. They�re settled in Parickova 18, Bratislava, Slovakia. What you see is the project for SOU Housing Complex in Ruzinov, Bratislava. It�s conversion of a former high school area into a housing complex. The vertically shifted towers provide maximum density while granting the isolation regulations. The programme is focused on mostly starting flats. Ship_Food is a plastic tray/dish designed by Laura Tombari especially for cocktail parties, banquets and similar events. The dish has separate sections for the different kinds of food. In the middle of the dish there is a special hole where a glass can be placed. Ship_Food is grasped like an ice cream cone. A hole in the cone assures you more secure grasp. The tray is produced in 5 different colours � white, yellow, orange, green, and red. Dimensions: L 195 x H 323.6 mm.

Adam Rowe is 21 years old British product designer. Currently he is based in a studio in London, working on his own furniture but also running his own jewellery design business with Tiina Hakala called titiMadam. �My first and foremost principle in my work is to fully develop what a material can do and how it can be used in a different way. Being explored by Nokia Research Center in collaboration with the Cambridge Nanoscience Centre, this device concept demonstrates the functionality that nanotechnology might be capable of delivering: flexible materials, transparent electronics, self-cleaning surfaces, ability to observe local environment and harvest energy.▪
