Located in the Mount Baker neighbourhood of Seattle, this home, created by Pb Elemental Architecture is actually on a hill, high above the street. The 335 sq m home includes four bedrooms, two and a half baths, and a large open living floor with 3 metres-tall ceilings and a two-car garage with a 37 sq m roof deck above. Additionally, the home includes a separate, one bedroom apartment unit on the lower level, complete with a wrap-around patio. The structure was conceived as the juxtaposition of three pure volumes, each containing a unique programmatic element. In turn, each element is clad with clear cedar, cement board or concrete to emphasize the massing.

The ecological structure is a step in exploring the possibilities of photo reactive materials in the fields of furniture and design. The beauty of OR is its constant interaction with the elements, each moment of the day is unique. Special software components have been developed in order to create the shapes and to generate the cutting schedules. Architects and designers Ran Ankori, Francesco Brenta, Maya Carni, Christoph Klemmt, Laura Micalizzi and Elisa Oddone developed the project.▪

The lamp pays its respect to the traditional incandescent light bulb, which with its warm light and good color reflection has given light to our households for so many years. The classic light bulb is one of Man�s most important inventions. Unfortunately this bulb is ineffective, which creates challenges in our threatened environment. Scheisse is a blend of art and industrial design, an experiment with light and shadow as well as positive and negative shapes. Scheisse creates a distinct shadow and sculpture in its environment. Scavolini presents a new version of their famous model Tess. Designed by Silvano Barsacchi now Tess has a new, up-to-date outlook. A new aluminium profile is placed instead of the previous handle used on the tall and pull-out units. The new curved elements take the form of opening end panels, available for base, wall and tall units, with the same depth as the unit to which they are attached. Ecco Charade collection includes triangular, square, rectangular or round rain shower heads, which offer from 90 anti-scale silicone nozzles (the triangular head), up to 164 (the round head). An environmentally friendly car is being released and it also has a beautiful design. The producers are Austin-based automotive design and manufacturing company Ronn Motors. The new road sensation is called the Scorpion and it runs on hydrogen fuel injections. The vehicle utilizes new \'hydrogen on demand\' technology, which, simply put, generates water from the inbuilt tank, turns it into hydrogen and then injects this into the car\'s system. Not only does this approach allow fuel mileage to increase by between 20 to 40%, it also reduces carbon emissions to nearly zero. The Scorpion is out early 2009 and can be yours for 150,000 USD.

In preparation for the 2008 Summer Olympics Beijing has catched the eye with those green sculptures. With an area of 60,000 sq m, the exhibition showcased more than one million of rarity flowers and trees of over 1,000 species from 205 countries and regions in the five continents. There are certain doubts that these gardens do enough good to tackle the environmental issues�maybe so, but at least it�s really getting the attention.

Smolenicky & Partner was chosen from Sempachersee Golf Club to design three new buildings (the clubhouse and restaurant building plus a new maintenance building) and the enlargement that includes a second 18-hole course. That makes Sempachersee Golf Club the largest golf club in Switzerland. The luxurious vibe in the clubhouse building is created by the two U-formed exterior spaces decorated in dark orange. Dark-blue lacquer is chosen for the club members lounge. The project includes a public restaurant, members� dining area and two large entertainment rooms. You can find it approximately 15 km from Lucerne in the heart of Switzerland.

With their motto The Art of Play, the interior of Chinadoll takes art out of the gallery and into the club. Conceived and designed by E.P.I.C. Design, the interior is rich on interpretations of the human realation theme finding form in paintings, sculptures and furniture. The work of six contemporary Chinese artists is integrated into the interior, custom-made installations and furniture, depicting for example sexy female forms.
