New LCD TV by Giorgio Armani and Samsung

Giorgio Armani and Samsung Electronics presented new LCD TV. Its remote control has a special 4-mode lighted power switch that customizes the display of the two companies� logos on the front of the television. The unit has radiant backlights to present a full range of convenient features. The television also has a smaller, pebble-shaped remote for basic functions. Both models, 46-inch and 52-inch, incorporate many of the features and cutting-edge technologically, such as 100Hz Full HD and HDMI connectors. The design has been inspired by 2008/09 Armani/Casa collection, which Brahms tea table in pleated effect glossy black lacquered wood has been specifically designed for new television. The 46-inch model will be launched in Europe, Korea and Russia in mid summer. The 52-inch model will be launched in late-summer.

Seymourpowell�s First Design for LG Electronics Released Commercially

The first product designed by Seymourpowell for South Korean electronics giant LG Electronics to be released commercially comes out this month: the high-end, LCD HD television, the LG70. �LCD (liquid crystal display) televisions have taken longer than plasma screens to function well at larger sizes, but are now fast becoming the more dominant of the two technologies�, commented Seymourpowell design director David Fisher.▪

Media Skin: Mobile Phone by Tokujin Yoshioka

Media Skin, the sixth product from the au design project by KDDI, is based on a prototype that was first presented in November 2005. Created by Tokujin Yoshioka, its true charm lies in its feel. �We used surface treatment and special paint to create two entirely different textures. The orange and white models feature paint made with silicon particles, like those used in cosmetic foundations, for smooth comfort, while the black is made with a soft-feel paint that includes special urethane particles to provide a relaxed comfort. The flip-style cover over the keypad not only contributes to the simple elegance and comfortable feel of the Media Skin, it also adds the convenience of being able to answer and end phone calls with a simple flipping motion,� comment from KDDI.▪

D:Scribe Digital Pen Sends SMS and Email

D:Scribe is a digital fountain pen that allows users to send SMS and email messages from paper. Just write out the message, and circle the person\'s name to send. This does away with using a keypad or keyboard and allows the user to focus on communicating in a more personal way. The pen also records everything that is written that could be accessed on a computer later. D:Scribe is designed by the young designer Reuben Png and was among the finalist in the competition for the Australian Design Award - Dyson Student Award.

An environmentally friendly car is being released and it also has a beautiful design. The producers are Austin-based automotive design and manufacturing company Ronn Motors. The new road sensation is called the Scorpion and it runs on hydrogen fuel injections. The vehicle utilizes new \'hydrogen on demand\' technology, which, simply put, generates water from the inbuilt tank, turns it into hydrogen and then injects this into the car\'s system. Not only does this approach allow fuel mileage to increase by between 20 to 40%, it also reduces carbon emissions to nearly zero. The Scorpion is out early 2009 and can be yours for 150,000 USD.
