Seiko Launches the First TO Automatic Models by Issey Miyake

In June 2008 Seiko Instruments Inc. launches the first automatic models to it�s TO watches produced by Issey Miyake. The watches are characterized by its substantial, sculpture-like design made by Tokujin Yoshioka. TO had been born from an aim to a create new wave for design, which led Tokujin to rethink about hands, the most basic of a watch. It aimed to capture the beauty of the material itself as if it was sculpted from a lump of metal.

At the end of June, as it closes it doors, The Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris hosted a flamboyant evening... Ordinarily it�s the openings that are celebrated; on this occasion it�s the closing and destruction that is cause for a party... to build something even better. Alexandre Allard, Philippe Starck and Sylvain Ercoli invited their guests to an extraordinary evening to rediscover the essence of Parisian nights with a 21st century twist. Arne Quinze created an enormous installation in fluorescent wood that took hold of the lobby and accompanied the visitors up through the floors. Party guests also included movie celebrity Jude Law and R�n�B sensation Kanye West.▪

An environmentally friendly car is being released and it also has a beautiful design. The producers are Austin-based automotive design and manufacturing company Ronn Motors. The new road sensation is called the Scorpion and it runs on hydrogen fuel injections. The vehicle utilizes new \'hydrogen on demand\' technology, which, simply put, generates water from the inbuilt tank, turns it into hydrogen and then injects this into the car\'s system. Not only does this approach allow fuel mileage to increase by between 20 to 40%, it also reduces carbon emissions to nearly zero. The Scorpion is out early 2009 and can be yours for 150,000 USD.
